The Box Shop
A very special place that is dear to my heart. It is the place where I first picked up a MIG welding gun, where I wielded my first crescent wrench to tighten some finicky brass fitting, where I was terrified by the grinder for the first time.

This is the home of the Flaming Lotus Girls and many other artists, makers and mad scientists. It is run by one of San Francisco's leading industrialist artists - Charlie Gadeken.
The Box Shop gets its name from the stacks of shipping containers, used as studios, that line the yard. There is also a full range metal fabrication shop in the main building, alongwith a bathroom and lounge.
Summer is the busiest time, as most of the artists that rent space here are busy working on projects for the annual Burning Man Festival that takes place in August.
Regardless of what time of year one goes there, there will always be something interesting happening.
