Hand of God
The Hand of God is a sculpture that the Flaming Lotus Girls made for Burning Man in 2003. She is a 15-ft. tall ladies' hand that shoots a 100-ft. high stream of liquid fuel out of each fingertip.
The girls were invited to participate in a festival in Europe, called Robodock, in the autumn of 2005. We decided to take the Hand of God. She got a shiny new manicure, an upgraded fueling and purging system and her skin was touched up quite a bit.
Yet another opportunity to learn. I helped with some of the plumbing of the liquid fuel system and the preparation for the long trip to the Netherlands. Now I know some more things I didn't about liquid propane, pressurizing tanks and purging the lines. I also learned that my cousin is the biggest pyro in the group! You would never know that if you met her.
